Yeah, congrats to a new Gretsch owner. I love mine and would never trade them. Although mine never leave the house anymore.

Gots me a "wine-wood finish" [or similar facsimile] set a' Gretschs, in '86, put together by a popular local music store 4 Harvey Mason [clinic there]...came w the old May EA 'cut-off' Shure 'inner-shell' mic system [57's]...22, 8, 10, 12 [rack], 14 [FT!]; came w the old Porcaro Rack & 5 Pearl rack-mounted hardware stands, hi-hat stand, 6x14 Yamaha snare, cases, & a throne & the old DW2000 dbl pedal - all for around $1200 at the time [which is practically a felony - the guy just couldn't sell 'em! But I bought 'em!]... I LOVE MY FREAKIN GRETSCHS!

I know this is probably a ridiculous question, what is so "special" about the silver sealer on the inside of Gretsch shells?? Personally, I don't think it looks good at all, but I know it's not all about the look (especially on the inside of a shell). Does the sealer have any effect whatsoever on the sound?
